Answer - The first picture shows the funeral ceremony. This ceremony takes place when a person dies. I take part in the ceremony, wish that the departed soul rests in peace, and console the bereaved family members. The second picture shows a person who is in a sad mood, and in this situation, I try to make the person happy by showing him/her the bright aspects of life and also by helping him realize the true meaning of life. The third picture shows people participating in religious ceremonies. When such religious ceremonies occur in our culture, I, too, participate. The last image depicts a girl who is ill, most likely with the flu. When I find people suffering from the flu, I suggest they drink plenty of hot drinks and rest. I also personally help. them to take to the hospital when they are severely ill.

Reading I
Do you agree with the following statements? Discuss.
a. Death is not the opposite of life, but a part of it.
Answer -
I completely agree with this statement because when a living organism gets born, death also comes together with him/her/it. No matter how powerful, brave, or intelligent an organism or human being is, all have to die one day - sooner or later. Hence, death is not the opposite of life but part of it.

b. From the day you were born, you are slowly dying.
Answer -
I completely agree with this statement too. All organisms have life for a certain period of time. From the day they are born, all living beings have to face death one day. In fact, the more living beings live, the more they are closer to death. Hence, from the day we are born, we are slowly dying.

Death is a Fiction
Short Summary

Did you ever see somebody who actually died and came back? No. There may be a near death experience. So from where did you get this idea that there is something called as death? Death is a fiction created by ignorant people. Death is the creation of people who live their lives in total unawareness. See, what you call as life right now, the process of life; you can also refer to it as death. Every moment you are playing between life and death and life and death - actually it is so.You exhaled and did not inhale again, death happened, isn't it? See, every moment in Yoga we say inhalation is life, exhalation is death. There is nothing wrong with death; it has to happen.

You need to understand that the moment you are born, you have a death sentence upon you. Your death is confirmed, isn't it? We do not know whether you will get educated or not; we do not know whether you will get married or not; we do not know whether you will know joy or not; we do not know whether you will know misery or not; but we know one day you will die. It does not matter what ideas you have formed about life, when you are confronted with the moment of death, you really do not know anything.Death is one thing that they are still clueless about-though a lot of people would like to talk authoritatively about it. The very idea of death has come to you because people have been talking about it without knowing about it.

D. The speaker tries to convey that finally good things remain with him before he sets off his ultimate journey to the sea. 'Sea' is taken as something blank, unknown and as an unpredictable world after death. Do you believe in life after death? Discuss.
Answer - The speaker in the poem tries to convey that, finally, good things remain with him before he sets on his ultimate journey to the sea. Here, "sea" is taken as a blank, unknown, and unpredictable world after death. This shows that the poet, through the speaker in his poem, believes in life after death. Speaking for myself, I too believe in life after death. First of all, I am a follower of the Hindu religion, and the faith of my religion makes me believe that there is reincarnation or rebirth of life. To support this view, sacred Hindu texts like the Bhagavad Gita argue that when a person dies, it is his or her only physical body that dies, but the soul of a person is immortal. It never dies; rather, it changes from one body to another. Hinduism argues that the death of a person is like a soul migrating from one body to another, just like humans changing clothes. HenceI do believe that there is life after death.
